SMS Opt-In & Consent Flow

How FolioLive users consent to SMS messaging through Shield Phone activation.

What Is Shield Phone?

FolioLive™ Shield Phone (part of FolioShield™) gives business users (real estate agents, service providers, event organizers) a dedicated masked phone number. When a buyer or lead texts the masked number — displayed on sale signs, listing pages, and QR codes — the message is forwarded to the business owner's private phone. The owner's real number is never exposed.

SMS messages are used exclusively for:

FolioLive does not send unsolicited marketing messages, promotional blasts, or share phone numbers with third parties.


Business Owner Opt-In Flow

Business owners explicitly consent to SMS forwarding during Shield Phone setup within the FolioLive dashboard. The full flow is shown below:

1 Navigate to FolioShield

The user opens their FolioLive dashboard and navigates to the FolioShield page, which manages privacy routing for their listings.

2 Activate Shield Phone

The user taps "Activate Shield Phone" to provision a masked number. They select a local area code and enter the personal number where messages should be forwarded.

3 Review & Accept SMS Consent

Before activation completes, the user must check two consent boxes and acknowledge the terms. The activation button remains disabled until both are checked.

4 Confirmation

After activation, the user sees their masked number in the dashboard. They can deactivate at any time from Settings, which immediately stops all SMS forwarding.


Buyer & Lead Opt-In

Buyers and leads opt in to SMS by voluntarily texting the Shield Phone number displayed on:

By initiating a text to the Shield Phone number, the buyer consents to receive replies from the business owner through that number. Buyers can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance.

Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to immediately stop receiving SMS. A single confirmation message is sent. No further messages will be delivered.

Types of Messages Sent

Message frequency varies based on buyer interactions. Typically 1–5 messages per conversation. No recurring marketing messages are sent.
